Hi, I’m Rhiannon.
I’m 20 years old and a current English & Media student in Cardiff, Wales. My mum’s Irish and my Dad’s Belgian and I’ve lived in 6 countries so far. I know a little more than the average person about travelling because I’ve had to bounce between countries my whole life. A lot of my friends ask me questions like “Is New York different when you’re a local?” or “What’s it like living by the beach?”, “Where’s the best place to go for breakfast in Paris?”.
Well. To all my friends, in person and virtual, here is my guide to what I know about travelling, the countries I lived in, and the places I have only begun to explore.
I usually add a song to my blog posts of either local artists, or something that was playing during a specific memory I have in that place. Of all things, music is an important part of travel. Throughout days, weeks, and years of travel you learn to value something like music to pass the time in planes, trains, cars, and anything else that moves. I hope you enjoy my little corner of the internet.
“Travel isn’t always pretty. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts, it even breaks your heart. But that’s okay. The journey changes you; it should change you. It leaves marks on your memory, on your consciousness, on your heart, and on your body. You take something with you. Hopefully, you leave something good behind.” – Anthony Bourdain
